AceSpace Tennis Update: Wimbledon Edition

Did you know?

With Halep cruising past Serena, and Djokovic besting Federer in 5 sets last weekend, we thought we’d share some fun facts about Wimbledon, the grand slam tournament that inspires players around the world to compete.

  1. While Wimbledon is now one of the most-watched tennis competitions in the world, its first tournament in 1877 had only 200 spectators, and prime box seats cost a shilling.
  2. The tournament requires 54,250 tennis balls, which are stored in special refrigerators while not in use. The first ones used at Wimbledon were white.
  3. This year’s Djokovic-Federer match was the longest Wimbledon final in history, besting the 2008 Federer-Nadal final’s time by 9 minutes. However, it pales in comparison to the Isner-Mahut 2010 match, which clocked in at 11 hours and 5 minutes.
  4. Fans traditionally eat strawberries and cream during the tournament.
  5. At Wimbledon, fans can line up to get show court tickets on the day of the match (if any are left!).

Our goal is to connect tennis players with facilities. AceSpace provides tennis facilities free software that allows them to manage their reservations with ease, and it gives players the ability to book courts, schedule lessons, and join clinics and seasonal programs from the palm of their hand.

AceSpace also seamlessly integrates with each facility’s website, making it even easier for health-minded players to reserve their next court.
